    I’m not sure if it was because of my frequent reports or if they just got their act together.. but finally this has been taken care of and I want to say thank you. I’m going to think positive the grass will grow where they destroyed it and halfheartedly reseeded it.

    So I’m wondering why on a Wednesday at 11:10 this car is parked on the grass at Russell Field. I question why any car should be allowed inside the field?, But there doesn’t seem to be anything going on today.. is it replant grass? or maybe should anyone associated with this field?     I know I’ve written about the situation before.. and I have heard the city took a pretty inexpensive bid on repairing the baseball field, but it’s been almost a month and a half since it was done.. the grass that was laid down has grown nicely and looks like it’s been mowed. When is going to be completed? Is the post that’s part of the fence going to lie on the grass all summer? Is the orange netting going to be used as a gate? Games are already being played. And as far as the grass seed that was put down where the contractor left a lot of dirt and metal plates., well it’s really not growing. Grass seed needs to be watered frequently and in spite of the rain we’ve gotten as I walked by today. There’s a lot of it on thesurf fac, not sprouting. e andno

    This is at The part of the access road near Alewife station they put you back on route 2, at the end of Yates, Pond. Community members clean this area up and have asked these bags be picked up. if public works isn’t going to pick them up would you please give information as to who to report it to? Community is doing its best to clean up trash, and it would be unfortunate if this effort goes without acknowledgment. en o yo a th endtw

    I have heard the city took the least expensive bid to fix over the baseball field and it’s still not complete. How long is it going to take for this to be picked up or put back in the ground and as far as the receding of the area that was covered with dirt, multiple cars have driven over it and in spite of the rain and sun we’ve gotten it does not seem like much is growing yet but every day that baseball field seems to get groomed

    This is the drain outside the newly renovated baseball field at Russell Field. During the construction, there was a barrier put up around it. To keep things from falling in. This entire grassy area is right now submerged in water because it can’t drain easily into the drain. Could someone please come and remove this protective barrier that was put on it. There’s also excess water on the path which I think is probably due to the same issue..

    . This is just outside the newly refinished baseball field. I walk my dog every morning and often see Public Works employees grooming, the new field, as well as the artificial turf with refreshed markings. After a month this area got cleaned up, and I assume it’s grass seed that is on top of it. However. As you could see in the upper right hand side of the photo., there is still construction debris left in the form of a concrete based fence support. Also there was no sort of barrier put around the newly seated area, vehicles have already driven on it.
    I really don’t understand why it was so hard to take care of this area .. and I have to wonder if this grass will ever grow, and how long that concrete fence support will be left there. pol

    The Big Belly trash can just inside Russell Field at the Clifton St entrance is open unusable due to the fact that someone shoved enough into it that one cannot open the drawer to put rubbish in. People are starting to leave rubbish outside of it. Can you please address the sooner rather than later?

    Just one more issue at the newly renovated baseball field at Russell Field. The one where the contractors after one month still have not picked up unusable dirt and metal plates. The sprinklers for the field are on early in the morning, and hit the pedestrian path This picture was taken at 7:15 in the evening.. there is still fair amount of water on the path, the grass around the drain is waterlogged. Perhaps if the contractors had taken the protection off the drain the excess water would be able to flow freely into the drain. .

    Yet another "issue" with the newly renovated baseball field at Russell Park. The one where contractors haven’t finished coming and picking up leftover dirt and metal plates. There are automatic sprinklers that are on early in the morning on the side of the field that borders the path, various times they get quite a bit of water on the path. it wouldn’t be a big deal if the drain were fully clear to allow water runoff to flow freely. These pictures were taken at 7:15 before 12 hours after I initially saw the sprinklers on. There is still quite a bit of water, the grass around the drain is waterlogged, and the water draining very slowly due to the fact that the drain has" protected". t ru dow littl mor

    Nice to see that the soccer field is getting some love at Russell Field. I will say I got very excited when I saw all the DPW trucks there thinking., incorrectly, that they were there to clean up the mess left by contractors after the baseball field was restored..

    Just saw a Cambridge Electrical Dept. Truck at the end of Russell Field. and thought maybe this light was finally getting fixed. This has been broken since January., and has been reported a few times. What is the problem? Why isn’t it getting fixed? I realize it staying lighter. later, but it’s still does get dark over here and walking atnnight is less safe becausebecause of the light being out..

    So, regarding this mess that has been here for over two weeks. I spoke to a public works employee this morning who is sitting in his truck. He told me it was the contractors responsibility. When I mentioned that it had been over two weeks and that the grass was going to die, he responded well, then it’ll be my job to fix it. My question is why is ANY contractor hired who doesn’t finish the job?? And why are my tax dollars, (which I assume help pay public work employee salaries) being used to complete something that could’ve been taken care of after the baseball field was finished? How long are we waiting for this contractor to come back?

    This is inside Russell Field. Once again, parking on (what used to be grass). I realize many of these people volunteer their time to support youth sports, but I don't understand why they cannot park ON THE STREET. I know there has been a complaint regarding possibly this same vehicle and really wish the city would set guidelines If equipment has to be unloaded do it, staying on the pavement and then park in the street. As I took this picture it was raining .,,,.,

    Russell Field House. I complained about the situation a week or two ago. They were many more pizza boxes and one of the comments I believe public works made was a week go through there every day will definitely get it something to that effect. This was here this morning and now it is 745 in the evening so I guess they didn’t come by today, I think if there are athletic events going on involving food, ee which I think is gre, . The trash needs to bdealt with differently. ed

    This may be a duplicate.. The baseball field has been redone, And looks great. The remains of the project, however, are here more than a week later. Is the goal to kill off the grass in this area? It was always in good shape and would use it frequently to watch baseball games. Please take care of the grass too far gone? There is no reason for this dark fence support and metal plates to still be here
